the garden
of delight
Brindha Kumar
Exclusively designed for Rebel Patch, The Garden of Delight is Brindha Kumar’s abstract interpretation of a modern wonderland, a vivid, shape-led universe where colour, symmetry and pattern collide.
The collection celebrates geometry in motion: layered forms, playful compositions and tongue-in-cheek references to both tradition and contemporary life. Each patch feels like a fragment of a larger world, bold, intricate and designed to reveal more the longer you look at it.
Brindha Kumar
Brindha Kumar is a Malaysian illustrator whose work is deeply influenced by her upbringing in Malaysia, a country rich in Malay, Indian and Chinese cultural traditions. Growing up surrounded by festivals, ornamentation and saturated colour palettes naturally shaped her visual language, something that continues to inform her practice today.
Working primarily in digital mediums, Brindha is known for her clean lines, controlled symmetry and fearless use of colour. Her illustrations balance precision with playfulness, often blending modern and traditional references in unexpected ways. What appears bold and graphic at first glance often reveals layers of detail and narrative upon closer inspection.
Her journey has taken her from designing school event banners in her hometown to creating large-scale window installations for global retailers such as Selfridges on London’s Oxford Street. Now based in London, she continues to merge her cultural roots with contemporary expression — building vibrant, multilayered worlds that feel both meticulous and emotionally alive.
